Vietnam Approves $86 Million Casino Resort in Da Nang

The People's Committee of Da Nang province announced that the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam has approved a proposal to build a resort and casino complex in Da Nang.

The proposal to construct the US $86 million tourism resort came from the US-based Silver Shores and Hanoi based company Hoang Dat Company Ltd.

The resort and casino will be built near Bac My An Beach south of the Furama Resort in Ngu Hanh Son District.

The resort will house six hundred rooms in a five star hotel, fifty luxury villas and conference centers.

According to the provision of the deal, the casino will only be permitted after the opening and establishment of smooth business operations for the hotel and the resort.

The company will operate a casino that will house one hundred slot machines, eight blackjack, craps and baccarat tables. The foreigner only casino will also offer sight seeing tours.

Right now, casino licenses and projects are only permitted to foreigners and they must get the approval of the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, Ministry of Planning and Investment said that it will closely monitor the casino gaming complex as casinos are viewed as socially sensitive and are out of line with the rich culture of Vietnam.

Including the Hoang Dat and Silver Shores venture, this will only the fifth casino in Vietnam.
